GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The Southeastern Conference Diving Championships concluded Sunday afternoon on a positive note for the No. 22 Lady Vols as freshman Lauren LeRoy finished in 15th place in the platform event. Her effort netted the Orange and White two points, which will carry over to the swimming portion of the championships.

"I'm very proud of her effort today," Diving Coach Dave Parrington said. "She is obviously very inexperienced and some of that showed today, but she kept a good attitude and was able to put some points on the board for Tennessee. That is very pleasing. She certainly needs to get more exposure at this level and I think that in the future the judges will be a little more familiar with her diving which will benefit her."

LeRoy tallied 286.30 points in her nine dives and was only a little more than three points behind Florida's Nicole Bolt for 14th. What is most impressive about her finish on Sunday is that it was the first time in the Wisconsin native's career that she had ever competed in the platform event.

There will now be a two-day break before the swimmers take center stage on Wednesday when the league championships resume.
