LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Lady Vol diving squad will gear up to take on its Southeastern Conference counterparts on Friday, Feb. 2, for day one of the SEC Championships. Senior Brittany Fulmer, juniors Lauren LeRoy and Vicky Linnell and sophomore Staley McCartney will travel to Lexington, Ky., for the three-day meet.

"The whole team has been waiting for this meet anxiously," Lady Vol Head Diving Coach Dave Parrington said. "There is certainly a lot of excitement around all four divers. As always, the depth in the conference and the quality of diving will be extremely competitive. I like our chances for success at this meet."

Coming into the meet with 11 wins and 12 NCAA zone qualifying scores on the season is Oshkosh, Wis., native Leroy. The junior has made great strides since her sophomore campaign, sweeping the one- and three-meter diving events on five different occasions this season. She has been named SEC Diver and Lady Vol Athlete of the Week twice and moved from ninth on the all-time Lady Vol list to third with a career-high 310.35 from the one-meter. She earned the highest score in Lady Vol history (367.80) from the three-meter breaking a 10-year old record by 26.85 points.

"Lauren had an outstanding year," Parrington said. "Both she and I are excited to see if she can continue to provide the top performances she has all year against everybody here at the meet."

The other three Lady Vol divers have also set new personal records this year. Linnell's 270.07 from the one-meter versus Georgia (Jan.20) places her 14th in the UT annals. Her 313.65 points from the three-meter in the Jan.26 meet at Florida made her the ninth top performer in school history. Her third-place 223.30 from the platform at the Georgia Invitational and Shootout is also a career high for the Prospect, South Australia native.

Fulmer's three-meter score in Gainesville, Fla. (280.80) marked a personal best and moved her to 15th on the top performers list. Sophomore Staley McCartney set new individual bests from all three heights (235.65 in the one meter, 278.78 in the three meter and 187.65 in the platform).

The women's portion of the meet is slated to begin at 2:30 p.m. ET with the preliminaries of the three-meter competition. All events are held at the Lancaster Aquatic Center.
