GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Junior Gabrielle Trudeau qualified for tonight's finals in the 1-meter diving completion as she led the Lady Vol divers during Saturday morning prelims at the 2011 SEC Swimming and Diving Championships.

Trudeau finished fifth in the event with a score of 286.60. Taryn Zach of South Carolina will head into tonight's finals with the highest prelim score of 309.50.

On the season, the 1-meter has been Trudeau's strong point as the Montreal, Canada, native has won the event in the last three dual-meets and at the Tennessee Invitational.

The top eight divers from the prelims advanced to tonight's finals session at 5 p.m.

Sophomore Skye Sanders and senior Jill Pierce also competed for the Big Orange on day two of the championships.

Sanders finished the event with a score of 221.80 to claim 22nd, while Pierce was one spot behind in 23rd with a tally of 220.75.
