KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The Lady Vol swimming and diving team isn't finished picking up the hardware yet. Following its best finish at the NCAA Championships in 11 years, 10th, Tennessee was named to the Academic All-America team by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) for its team cumulative 3.20 grade point average.

A total of 335 teams from 221 schools made the list, 96 of them being Division I women's programs. Tennessee ranks 52nd among those teams. The University of Denver tops the list with a 3.58 GPA.

The 2005-06 season also saw UT achieve academic success as the squad's 3.30 GPA for the year was the highest in team history. Two of the three graduating seniors in 2006 were awarded postgraduate scholarships by the Southeastern Conference.

Tennessee came back from the 2007 NCAA Championships in Minneapolis, Minn., with a 10th-place finish and 26 All-America certificates. The team ended the season with a ranking of 13th by the CSCAA.
