The Tennessee swimming program has released dates and details for the summer 2012 summer camps.
Three five-day overnight sessions during June are available for intermediate and advanced swimmers ages 8 to 18. The camp will take place in the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center, site of the 2012 SEC Championships.
Session 1: June 3-7
Session 2: June 10-14
Session 3: June 17-21
Tennessee is also offering an elite camp again this summer during the three camp sessions. The camp uses the normal camp model that focuses on stroke technique by adding additional elements and workout sessions for the swimmers.
"Tennessee Swim Camps is known across the country as one of most innovative and educational camps," said Coleman Weibley, who the director of operations for the Tennessee swimming and diving programs and acts as the associate camp director. "We are really excited about camps this summer, especially because it is an Olympic year. Our state-of-the-art Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center, along with our other two Olympic pools, gives us many possibilities for learning both in and out of the water."
The Tennessee swimming programs are also hosting a holiday clinic Jan. 2-5, 2012 for ages 5 to 99. Participants will receive instruction both in and out of water as coaches and staff break down stroke mechanics.
The four-day evening sessions cost $80 with early registration and $95 when registering after Dec. 30.
