SENIOR (FALL 2010):

Ranked No. 116 in the initial ITA singles rankings...Missed the early part of the fall due to injury...Returned for the USTA/ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships...Went 4-4 in singles play, reaching the singles semifinals of the Ohio Valley Regional...Captured the doubles title at the OVR, teaming up with freshman Brynn Boren...That victory earned her and Boren a berth in the doubles draw of 2010 USTA/ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships...Advanced to the quarterfinals of that event, before falling to eventual champions Allie Will and Sofie Oyen of Florida.

JUNIOR (2009-10):

An All-SEC Second Team selection...Posted the best season of her career, setting career-bests in singles wins (23) and doubles wins (31)...Ranked No. 13 in the final ITA national doubles rankings with Caitlin Whoriskey...Finished the year rated 53rd in the ITA singles rankings...Clinched UT's season-opening victory over Illinois on Jan. 22, defeating Megan Fudge 7-6 (4), 6-1...Recorded 7 victories against top-100 opponents, including a 6-1, 6-4 victory over then-No. 31 Catherine Newman of Vanderbilt on Jan. 30...Paired with Whoriskey in doubles for 16 matches, achieving a 14-2 record...Toppled the No. 5-ranked doubles team in the nation, Allie Will and Marrit Boonstra of Florida on April 9...Netted 15 consecutive doubles wins from Feb. 13-April 17...In the fall, compiled a singles record of 8-2, tying for second on the team, and a 10-3 doubles record...Needed three sets but upset No. 98 Yevgeniya Stupak from East Tennessee State, 4-6, 6-3, 7-5, for a perfect singles record at the St. Mary's Tournament...Also beat Wake Forest's Martina Pavalec and Vanderbilt's Chelsea Preeg in straight sets...Was victorious in two of three doubles matches at the same tournament...Reached the second round of the ITA Ohio Valley Regionals after ousting Miami University's Hendrieka Honibal, 6-2, 4-6, 6-1...Paired with Kata Szekely to win three doubles matches, reaching semifinal action before falling to the Commodores' Jackie Wu and Preeg...Defeated Clemson's No. 81 Keri Wong, 6-3, 6-0, in the Flight Two semifinals at the Furman Fall Classic, after beating Katie Rybakova from Florida State...Played alongside Szekely to win the consolation finals in Flight Three of the Furman Fall Classic, 8-1, over South Carolina's Adriana Pereira and Miljana Jocic...Began the season at the SEC Coaches Classic, taking out Paulina Bigos from Alabama and Georgia's Cameron Ellis with matching, 6-3, 6-1, scores...Downed teams from Auburn, Mississippi and Alabama for the Flight Three doubles title at the SEC Coaches Classic.

SOPHOMORE (2008-09):

Tallied a 15-7 singles record during her first competitive year at Tennessee...Also put together a 31-12 mark in doubles play, going a perfect 11-0 at the No. 3 spot despite switching partners midway through the season...Claimed a three-set victory over Miljana Jocic from South Carolina during the second round of the 2009 NCAA Tournament...Won 10 of her last 12 matches with two victories coming over regionally-ranked oponents...Beat the Gamecocks' Suzanna Mansour, 6-3, 6-1, in the opening round of the SEC Tournament...One of only two players to win her match versus second-ranked Georgia by defeating Cameron Ellis, 6-4, 6-4...Combined with Jennifer Meredith as the only Orange and White pair to win a doubles match against the Bulldogs...Captured two doubles wins at the Michigan Invitational alongside Rosalía Alda...The two downed teams from Vanderbilt and Duke...Dropped only four games to Michigan's Michelle Sulahian for a 6-4, 6-4 singles victory...Dominated Kateryna Yergina from Virginia Commonwealth in her UT debut at the University of Virginia Invitational...Closed out the fall campaign strong, winning four of her final five contests, including two at the ITA Southeast Regional Championships in Winston-Salem, N.C., Oct. 23-27...Joined forces with Caitlin Whoriskey to record three victories at the UVa Invitational...The duo, which earned a No. 33 national ranking in the ITA preseason poll, traveled to the ITA All-American Championships in Pacific Palisades, Calif., from Oct. 1-3...Although it dropped its opening contest to the No. 36-ranked UCLA duo of Yasmin Shnack and Ashley Joelson, the UT tandem rallied to win three straight, including two over ranked squads, before bowing out in the final match of the qualifying doubles consolation draw...Sorbello then paired up with Rosalía Alda for the ITA Southeast Regional Championships...The duo won its first three contests, taking out squads from North Carolina, Duke and Furman before being ousted in the quarterfinals by the Tar Heel duo of Sanaz Marand and Sophie Grabinski, 8-9.

FRESHMAN (2007-08):

Did not compete during her rookie campaign while serving a year of residency...Was able to practice with the team but did not participate in any match play. HIGH SCHOOL: Ranked No. 1 in Queensland for U-18 girls...Earned all-Australian honors at the 2006 Pizzey Cup in Queensland for the third consecutive year (2004-06), becoming the first person to do so since the tournament was created in 1978...Her Queensland squad also earned the team championship in 2005 and 2006...Helped lead the St. Margaret's Anglican Girls School to a National School Team Championships title in both 2005 and 2006 as well...Was instrumental in the team's victories in both years, winning all of her matches from the top position in the singles lineup.

Majoring in communication studies...Plans to enter the hospitality industry upon graduation...Models herself after former Australian tennis player Daphne Fancutt because she was always gracious both in victory and defeat...Enjoys watching movies, cooking, and dancing in her free time...Is a former teammate of Kaden Hensel, who graduated from the men's team at Tennessee in 2008...Has two brothers, Joseph, 26, and Anthony, 23...Maria Natalie Sorbello, daughter of Angelo and Beverley Sorbello, was born Dec. 25, 1987, in Mackay, Australia.
