PEACHTREE CITY, Ga.

The University of Tennessee women's tennis team wrapped up competition at the adidas Collegiate Invitational on Sunday with a pair of doubles matches.

Freshman Blakeley Griffith and sophomore Sabita Maharaj defeated fellow Lady Vols freshman Victoria Jones and junior Ashley Robards, 8-2, in the consolation finals of the doubles competition. After suffering a first-round loss on Thursday, Griffith and Maharaj bounced back to win three straight matches en route to the consolation title.

The UT tandem of senior Tammy Encina and junior Majen Immink, meanwhile, bowed out in the doubles semifinals with an 8-1 loss to third seed, No. 17 Alexis Gordon and Julie Rotondi of Florida. Encina and Immink, seeded second in the tournament and ranked 14th, posted two wins this weekend before their defeat on Sunday.

The Lady Vols' next action of the fall will come at the ITA All-American Championships in Pacific Palisades, Calif., over Oct. 9-12.
