GREENVILLE, S.C. - All six University of Tennessee women's tennis players in action on Sunday morning won their singles contests, led by senior Samantha Orlin and junior Zsófia Zubor who finished off perfect weekends at the Furman Fall Classic, claiming titles in singles flights five and six, respectively, at the Mickel Tennis Center in Greenville, S.C. With the victory, Orlin has now won five consecutive matches this fall, while Zubor moved her winning streak to four.

Orlin moved her fall record to 5-1 with a hard-fought, 7-6 (4), 1-6, 6-3, triumph over Chelsea Preeg of Vanderbilt in the flight five championship match. Zubor followed suit, downing Florida State's Bonny Davidson in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1, to claim the flight six title.

In the first flight, sophomore Rosalía Alda earned her first singles victory of the weekend with a come-from-behind, 3-6, 6-2, 6-2, victory against Elena Chernyakova of Northwestern. Junior Caitlin Whoriskey, ranked No. 37 in the nation, earned a win in her final tune-up before the Riviera/Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-American next week, defeating Natasa Vuckovic from Southeastern Conference rival South Carolina, 7-6 (5), 6-3 in flight two.

Sophomores Maria Sorbello and Jennifer Meredith finished off the scoring for Tennessee with victories in their respective flights as well. Sorbello picked up a 6-0, 3-6, 6-1, decision over Furman's Jessica Preeg in flight three, while Meredith earned a third-place finish in the fourth flight with a 6-2, 6-2, win over Jelena Rajic, also of South Carolina.

Although the majority of the Lady Vol squad will have nearly a month off from competitive play following this weekend's action, Whoriskey and Sorbello will hit the road immediately, as the duo will be on its way to Pacific Palisades, Calif., to compete in the ITA All-American Championships, Sept. 30-Oct. 5. Whoriskey earned a spot in the main qualifying singles draw and will attempt to repeat as doubles champion with a new teammate in Sorbello after claiming the title with Zubor last year.
