Castellvi eyes a return. |

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif.
Senior Vilmarie Castellvi of the University of Tennessee Lady Vol tennis team coasted by her first round matchup with No. 19 Julie Rotondi of Florida in the opening round of the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships, winning by a 6-1, 6-1 count. The Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif, is hosting the prestigious national championship event this year.
Castellvi will face No. 67-ranked Amber Liu of Stanford tomorrow in the round of 16. Liu advanced by upsetting Duke's 28th-ranked Julie DeRoo, 2-6, 6-1, 6-4. Should Castellvi win her match with Liu, she would play the winner of No. 17 Mira Radu of Mississippi and No. 48 Alicia Pillay of Tulsa.
Two rounds of singles will be played tomorrow, followed by semifinal matches on Saturday, Oct. 12, and the finals on Sunday, Oct. 13.
