Senior Vilmarie Castellvi of the University of Tennessee Lady Vol tennis team rebounded from her opening round loss at the Omni Hotels Intercollegiate Indoor Championships with a pair of victories on Friday at Brookhaven Country Club in Farmers Branch, Texas. She will face No. 15 Erin Barnikow of Stanford in the semifinals of the consolation tournament at noon tomorrow.

Castellvi, the nation's No. 1-ranked player, kicked off her day by breezing through her first match with No. 56 Alexis Matire of Harvard, 6-2, 6-2. The Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, native then battled her way through a three set marathon with 67th-ranked Amber Liu of Stanford, 6-7(1), 6-1, 7-6(4). The win avenged Castellvi's loss to Liu earlier this fall at the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships on Oct. 11. The victory upped Castellvi's record to 10-2 this season.
