KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The 15th-ranked University of Tennessee women's tennis team (9-5, 3-1 SEC) is hoping to collect its fourth and fifth wins in Southeastern Conference play when it travels to face the LSU Lady Tigers on Friday, March 26 at 4 p.m. ET, and then return home for a noon contest against No. 22 Arkansas on Sunday.
The Lady Vols are hoping to be extra sharp coming into the matches after having this past weekend off from competition. Prior to the break, the Orange and White went 1-1 in SEC play. UT was defeated by Vanderbilt, 5-2, on March 12, before recording a 7-0 sweep of Kentucky on March 14.
LSU will be looking to collect its seventh win of the season and second in the SEC. The previous contest between the Lady Tigers and UT resulted in a 7-0 sweep by the Lady Vols last season in Knoxville. Tennessee leads the series 23-12.
At the conclusion of its competition with LSU, the Lady Vols team will make a quick turnaround for a home match versus No. 22 Arkansas on Sunday, March 28. First serve is set for noon at the Varsity Tennis Courts on UT's campus.
The Razorbacks defeated the UT 4-3 on March 27, 2009, but the Big Orange holds a 20-3 lead for the all-time series. Arkansas will host 13th-rated Georgia on Friday, hoping to acquire its third win in conference play.
