KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - University of Tennessee senior Caitlin Whoriskey helped guide the United States to the championship at the fourth annual Master'U BNP Paribas international collegiate tournament held Dec. 9-14 in Poitiers, France.

Day two pitted Team USA against Great Britain. Whoriskey and American teammate Irina Falconi of Georgia Tech played 17 total games, ultimately edging Claire Ricketts and Claire Birnie, 9-8.

Monday's finals featured the United States versus Team France and another doubles victory by Whoriskey and Falconi. With Team USA down 2-3 to France, the pair of All-Americans downed Manon Garcia and Fanny Fracassi, 6-3, 6-2, to push the U.S. into a 3-3 tie. Frilling and Kentucky men's player Eric Quigley won the mixed doubles match, claiming the deciding point, giving the Americans the championship. Earlier in the day, Whoriskey was defeated in a close, 7-6, 6-4, singles match by Garcia.

The U.S. women were coached by Michelle Dasso, the head women's coach at the University of Illinois who also served as coach for the United States at the 2008 Master'U BNP Paribas. The men's team featured Quigley, Austin Krajicek of Texas A&M and Steve Johnson of Southern California with Boise State's Greg Patton as head coach.
