ATLANTA, Ga. -- The University of Tennessee women's track & field team is headed home from the Yellow Jacket Invitational. Thunderstorms delayed the meet this morning and ultimately forced the event to be cancelled at 12:05 p.m. Saturday.

Out on the West Coast, J.J. Clark and his six-member contingent had one event scheduled for Saturday at the Stanford Invitational. He opted to hold his troops out today, however, after they charted three NCAA regional qualifying marks Friday night.

"We had four PRs and three regional marks last night, so I was pleased with how we performed in California," Clark said. "We were very fortunate to get that work in, since the meet in Atlanta was rained out. We're off to a nice start in the distance area, and we look forward to continuing that across the board in Florida next weekend."

As Clark mentioned, Tennessee will return to action next weekend, as the Lady Vols travel to Gainesville to compete in the Pepsi Florida Relays on April 3-4.
