KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee's Ellen Wortham remained unbeaten in the 400m hurdles, and Justin Hunter posted a runner-up finish in the triple jump as the Vols and Lady Vols closed their stay Saturday at the Vanderbilt Invitational in Nashville.

Wortham, a junior from Maryville, battled windy conditions to check in first in the 400 hurdles in 58.36 seconds, nearly two seconds ahead of her nearest competitor. She remains undefeated in the event after four competitions this season and continues to rank No. 2 in the NCAA. Teammate Bianca Blair was fourth in 1:01.69, while Jená Murphy placed fifth in 1:02.04, matching her career best.

Hunter, meanwhile, followed up Friday's runner-up outcome in the long jump with a second-place result in the triple jump. His mark of 49-10 was well behind the 51-4 1/4 effort of unattached competitor Kentá Bell.

Earlier in the day, Wortham ran the second leg on UT's 4x100m relay unit, helping that tandem to a season-best time of 44.73. VCU was nearly a second behind in 45.67. Joining Wortham in carrying the baton were Ashley Harris, Martinique Octave and Kia Jackson.

In the women's 100m dash, the wind fueled a trio of Lady Vols to the fastest times of their careers. Though their times will not count officially as personal bests due to breezes in excess of 2.0 meters per second, Jackson (11.63), Harris (11.81) and Octave (11.82) finished third, fifth and sixth, respectively.

Elsewhere, Minor Bowens wound up fourth in the men's discus throw with a toss of 150-11, and Blair was fifth in the women's 100m hurdles in 14.10.
