KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Lady Vol triple jumper Allison Outerbridge is among 38 athletes from her native Bermuda who will be competing in the 2011 Carifta Games in Montego Bay, Jamaica, April 23-25, the Bermuda Track & Field Association announced.
Outerbridge, a freshman from Sandys, Bermuda, will take part in the 40th edition of the event, which is an annual athletics competition founded by the Caribbean Free Trade Association. She was a bronze medalist in the 2010 Games, leaping 39 feet, 8 1/2 inches.
Countries eligible to compete in the Carifta Games are Anguilla, Haiti, Antigua & Barbuda, Jamaica, Aruba, Martinique, Bahamas, Montserrat, Barbados, Netherlands Antilles, Bermuda, St. Kitts & Nevis, British Virgin Islands, St. Lucia, Cayman Islands, St. Vincent & The Grenadines, Dominica, Suriname, French Guyana, Trinidad & Tobago, Grenada, Turks & Caicos Islands, Guadeloupe, U.S. Virgin Islands and Guyana.
