Tim DeMartin, Dan Nugent and Phil Coode put together a video feature for "Inside The Orange" on track & field's Chelsea Knotts, who recently was honored as one of seven 2012 winners of the Torchbearer Award, the highest honor UT bestows upon its students.
Also the winner of the Howard Aldmon Female Volunteer Award at UT's VOLSCARS year-end awards banquet, Knotts owns a 3.89 grade point average in biochemistry, cellular and molecular biology. She hails from Ripley, W.Va., and has been accepted to attend medical school at West Virginia University in the fall.
Here is the release that announced her inclusion among UT's 2012 Torchbearer winners.
Here is an Exchange Zone interview with Knotts and Elizabeth Tiller, a fellow member of the track & field team and Haslam Scholars program as well as a partner in service work with Redeeming Hope Ministries. That agency is at the center of Knotts' community service efforts.
