The Tennessee Lady Volunteers marched on in their second match at the Comcast Lady Vol Classic with a 3-0 sweep over Villanova at Thompson-Boling Arena.
Saturday's morning match was much shorter in comparison to the Lady Vols' five game comeback against Ohio the evening before.
Tennessee (2-0) took early leads in the first and third sets and rallied in the middle set to record its first sweep of the season 25-18, 27-25, 25-19. The Lady Vols had an SEC-leading 19 sweeps last season, including 11 at home.
Villanova (1-1) threatened to tie the match at one game a piece in the second set. Lady Vols trailed 25-24, facing match point when Robinson put away a shot down the left side to tie the match. Sahagian gave Tennessee the lead on the next point, and the Lady Vols went to the locker room leading two games to none after Villanova ended the set on an attack error into the net.
Tennessee plays Maryland at 7 p.m. to conclude the two-day tournament. Live streaming video will be available at http://www.utladyvols.com/allaccess/
