DALLAS - Tennessee volleyball rising senior Ellen Mullins concludes her trip with the 2013 U.S. Women's National Volleyball A2 Program on Wednesday, as her Team Blue competes in the bronze medal match at 4 p.m. ET. The event is being held at the Dallas Convention Center in conjunction with the USA Volleyball Girls' Junior National Championships.

Open to college athletes with eligibility remaining for the 2013 campaign, the WNTA2 program was whittled down from a record 240 tryout participants in February to just 47 in Dallas this week.

After splitting into four teams (Gold, Red, White and Blue), Mullins and her Team Blue teammates lost a tough opening match in pool play to Team Gold. Falling behind 2-0, Blue rallied to level the match at two sets apiece with 25-21 and 25-19 victories in sets three and four, respectively. However, Gold prevailed in the fifth set by a 15-10 margin. The following afternoon, Blue evened its record at 1-1 with a 25-23, 23-25, 20-25, 25-23, 15-11 win over Team Red. One of two liberos on the roster, Mullins helped her squad by completing 10 perfect passes in 16 attempts for a team-best 62 percent efficiency. BOX SCORE

On the final day of pool play, Team Blue played its third five-setter in as many days, but could not pull off the win as Team White prevailed 25-18, 27-25, 23-25, 18-25, 15-11. Blue was once again forced to comeback from a 2-0 deficit. Mullins, a product of Nashville, led her team once again defensively, finishing with 21 perfect passes in 35 attempts (60 percent efficiency). BOX SCORE

With a 1-2 overall record, Team Blue went into tournament play as the No. 3 seed and scheduled for a rematch with Team Gold. Blue took the early lead in the semifinals with a 25-23 set one win, but Gold took three consecutive sets to punch its ticket to the gold medal match. Stats are not yet available.

Mullins - just one of seven defensive specialists at the program - and Team Blue will take on Team Red in the bronze medal match on Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET. Blue's lone win of pool play was in five sets against Red.
