Volleyball TV Slate Unveiled

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -The defending Southeastern Conference Champion Tennessee volleyball team will make a league-high five television appearances during the upcoming 2012 campaign, the SEC, in conjunction with ESPNU, FOX SportSouth (SPSO) Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast (CSS) and Cox Sports Television (CST) announced on Wednesday.

Combined, the networks will broadcast 18 live SEC volleyball matches this season.

Tennessee will be featured on ESPNU, which broadcast to over 73 million homes, a total of three times. The Lady Vols’ conference opener at Missouri on Sept. 12 and their match at Kentucky on Sept. 26 will air live at 8 p.m. ET on the network. UT will also have its match at LSU on Oct. 10 shown live on ESPNU.

The Big Orange welcomes Alabama to Thompson-Boling Arena on Sunday, Oct. 28 for a 1 p.m. matchup that will air on FOX SportSouth and travels to Gainesville, Fla., for a 2 p.m. tilt against Florida on Nov. 4. The matchup against the Gators will be featured on CSS or CST.

Areas covered by Comcast will see matches on CSS, while areas covered by Cox (LSU, Arkansas and Florida) will see matches on CST.

Every ESPNU matchup will be streamed at WatchESPN. SportSouth, CSS and CST matches will also be made available on ESPN3.

Tennessee’s five televised matches are the most in the SEC, with LSU, Missouri and Texas A&M each making four appearances.

UT hosts the Comcast Lady Vol Classic to open the campaign from Aug. 24-25. The Orange & White welcomes 2011 NCAA Tournament participants Cincinnati, Florida State and Iowa State for the annual event.
