BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Tennessee junior Claudia Coco was named to the SEC Volleyball Community Service Team, the conference office announced Wednesday.
Coco logged more than 30 hours of service during the fall. Among her projects, she helped with the reintroduction of mussels into the wild and taught Pond Gap Elementary School students about endangered species. She organized the team's toiletry item drive for the annual Tennessee holiday meal for the surrounding Knoxville community in need. She also assisted with Vol-oween, UT's Halloween event for children of university faculty and staff.
A member of the 2015 SEC Academic Honor Roll, Coco serves as a team representative on Tennessee's Student Athlete Advisory Committee.
The Vols ended the season Saturday with a 3-0 loss at Missouri, finishing the year with a 17-14 record (7-11 SEC).
