NCAA South Regional Individual Champion, Vicky Gill -- Florida State

On her preparation for the meet
"I felt good going into today. Last week was the first week we started to taper and do more speed work in practice."

On her race strategy
"I wanted to race conservatively today, so I stayed back in the first mile and let someone else take the lead. There was a hill around the halfway point where I was able to make a move and pace myself the rest of the way through. I think my race plan worked well."

Tennessee Women's Head Coach J.J. Clark - Team Champion

On the team's performance
"I'm proud of the team because they gave 100 percent and ran their hardest, and that is all that you can ask of them."

"We ran well today, not because we won, but because we competed. This was our best race of the season, and hopefully we will be able to step up and perform even better at NCAAs."

On Dickie's pre-start fall
"I'm glad I didn't see it happen, because I probably would have been worried about her if I had."

Tennessee's Sharon Dickie - Second-Place Individual Finisher

On her performance
'I wanted to finish in the top three in the race, and that's what I ended up doing. I'm happy that I was able to accomplish that goal."

On South Florida's Christa Benton (third-place individual finisher)
"We pretty much helped each other out during the race. If I had been running by myself, I don't know if I would have pushed as hard. Having her there with me the entire race helped me keep up a fast pace. I just had more left at the end to finish in front."

On her pre-start fall
"I thought I heard the gun go off, and I tried to start and then held myself back, which caused me to fall down. I started laughing and I saw Brooke laughing about it and I think that helped us start off loose, instead of tight."

Tennessee's Brooke Novak

On her quick starting pace
"I run my best when I start a race out fast. If I had been pacing myself with Sharon, I probably would have faded toward the end of the race."

On her fourth-place finish
"I'm happy that I was able to accomplish my goal of going to the NCAA Championships. That's all I really wanted to do coming into the race today."

On the track conditions
"This is our home course, and I don't think that it really affected our ability to run or pace ourselves. Personally, I liked the condition of the course."
