KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The Lady Vol cross country team has made a schedule change. Director of Track & Field and Women's Cross Country Coach J.J. Clark announced Monday that his squad will compete on Saturday at the Front Runner Invitational in Chattanooga.
The two-mile race is slated to begin at 3:30 p.m. at the Moccasin Bend Cross Country Course. It will mark UT's first visit to Chattanooga for a meet since 2002, when the Big Orange women won the UTC Invitational.
The Lady Vols were previously scheduled to compete in the 6K Penn State National on Saturday, but Clark opted for the change.
"We are doing what we think is advantageous for our program at this time," Clark said. "We'll go down to Chattanooga, get in some good work and use this meet to prepare for the upcoming SEC Championships."
UT Men's Cross Country Coach George Watts, meanwhile, will take his squad to Terre Haute, Ind., on Saturday for the ISU Pre-National Invitational. The 8K meet is being held at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course, site of the 2010 NCAA Championships.
