
Prohibited items from Tennessee athletic events include the following:
The University of Tennessee reserves the right to examine the contents of any container brought into its venues. To protect the safety of our fans, players, officials and staff, the following items are prohibited:
- Alcoholic beverages
- Cans, bottles, coolers
- Outside food, snacks, beverages
- Radios without headsets
- Open umbrellas
- Video cameras
- Stadium seats with arms
- Large bags or parcels, including backpacks and larger purses
- Weapons, including pocket knives
- Artificial noisemakers
- Smoking is prohibited in Thompson-Boling Arena at all times
- Bag sizes greater than 12x12x12 (except for medical or diaper bags, which will be searched)
- Strollers
- Cameras with 'professional' detachable lenses
Please do not attempt to bring these or similar articles to a Tennessee Athletics event. Items will not be stored at the gate or stadium for pickup after the game.
Permissible ItemsThe following items are permitted inside University of Tennessee venues:
- Mobile phones
- Binoculars
- Radios with headsets
- Diaper bags when accompanied by an infant
- Limited use of cameras. Game action may not be filmed. Consideration of other spectators is expected. Flash photography is prohibited.
Gate Open Times
The following are times gates/doors open for home events at Tennessee:
Football: 2 hours before kickoff
Men's Basketball: 90 minutes before tipoff
Women's Basketball: 1 hour before tipoff
Volleyball: 1 hour before match start
Baseball: 2 hours before first pitch
Soccer: 1 hour before match start
Softball: 1 hour before first pitch
Non-ticketed events
Tennis: 2 hours before first match (for most home matches)
Outdoor Track: Gates open at all times
Swimming & Diving: At least 30 minutes before start time (Aquatic Center is also open during regular business hours.)
