 DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANT

Are you interested in pursuing a career in college athletics? Are you looking to get your foot in the door? Do you need practicum or internship hours? Well, you're in luck!

Development assistant opportunities may be available with the Tennessee Fund. Assistants are hired on a two-year commitment basis. A monthly stipend is provided for each person. For additional information on vacancies, please contact Blake Johnson in the Tennessee Fund office at (865) 974-1218. Some of the duties and responsibilities of development assistants are as follows:

  • Coordinate and Tennessee Fund DAY, Fund Drive meetings, Fund Drive Awards Luncheon, Big Orange Fan Receptions, and other athletic development events.
  • Supervise skyboxes during football games.
  • Govern and host development box during basketball games.
  • Develop and cultivate donor relationships.
  • Solicit current and prospective donors by telephone and face-to-face.
  • Oversee Tennessee Fund Annual Fund prospect management database.
  • Maintain content on Tennessee Fund Web site.
  • Create and issue the Fund Drive Newsletter - The Orange Juice.
  • Produce marketing literature and ads for the Tennessee Fund.
  • Manage the student pep club - ORANGE NATION.
  • Travel with the Fund Drive, Big Orange Fan Reception and Big Orange Caravan.
  • Correspond with donors and fans through mail, email and phone calls.
  • Resolve day-to-day issues that arise regarding donor accounts.
  • Coordinate and perform facility tours and greet visitors.
  • Delegate responsibilities to student assistants.
  • Plan and execute various mailings.
  • Attend all assigned meetings.

 STUDENT VOLUNTEER

Student volunteer opportunities are available with the Tennessee Fund. Student volunteers are hired on a semester-to-semester basis. For additional information on the vacancy of student volunteer positions please contact Blake Johnson in the Tennessee Fund office at (865) 974-1218. Some of the duties and responsibilities of student volunteers are as follows:

  • Provide superior customer service to incoming callers.
  • Field incoming phone calls.
  • Assist with mass mailings.
  • Help with inputting information into prospect database.
  • Update donor and prospect contact information.
  • Assist all Tennessee Fund staff as needed.
