Jennifer joined the Tennessee Fund staff for a second time in September 2003. She currently serves as the Director of Capital Support and Endowment Giving. In this role, her responsibilities include working with individuals to establish deferred gifts, raising funds for facility projects, and growing the athletic endowment.

Jennifer is originally from Franklin, N.C., and attended Mars Hill College in Mars Hill, N.C., on a cross country and track scholarship. After graduating in 1999, she spent a year in Hendersonville, N.C., teaching seventh grade math, science, and social studies at Apple Valley Middle School in addition to coaching cross country and track.

Nelson first joined the VASF staff in June of 2000 as a graduate assistant and earned her masters degree in 2001 from the University of Tennessee with a masters of science in Human Performance and Sport Studies. In March 2002, Jennifer began working in the athletic department at Wake Forest University as the Assistant Director of the Deacon Club where she helped grow the annual fund.

In 2003, she returned to the University of Tennessee as the Associate Director for Annual Giving. After overseeing the annual fund for four years, she began serving in her current role.

Jennifer is married to Richard Nelson, they reside in Knoxville.
