A native of Columbia, Tenn., Susan Shields joined the University of Tennessee Fund staff in the summer of 2007 as Administrative Specialist. She supports the Executive Associate Athletic Director, other department directors, projects, and special events.

Susan has worked extensively with non-profits, involved with both fund development and volunteer administration through positions with the Girl Scout Council of Middle Tennessee, The American Red Cross, and most recently as Assistant Director of Volunteer Services at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia. She is a Certified Director of Volunteer Services through the American Hospital Association.

Susan earned both her master's and bachelor's degrees in education with a major in leisure services from UT. She and her husband Keith, a UT Business graduate, have a daughter, Mary Beth.
