HENSEL CONTINUES STRONG PLAY AT ALL-AMERICANS

Tennessee men's tennis player Kaden Hensel won his second round singles qualifying match Tuesday morning and then came back in the afternoon and partnered with Bobby Cameron to win two doubles matches to put the pair one victory from advancing to the main draw at the Polo Ralph Lauren All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla.
Hensel defeated Ross Cunningham of Tulsa, 6-0, 6-1 to advance to within one victory of making the singles main draw. The UT junior meets Christian Groh, ranked No. 67 in the preseason ITA singles poll, of San Diego State in the third and final round of qualifying.
Cameron and Hensel defeated Ohio State's ranked tandem of Drew Eberly and Bryan Koniecko 8-2 in their first round qualifying match. In the second round, the UT juniors dispatched of Ball State brothers Joe and Jarrod Epkey 8-2. Cameron and Hensel face Alex Cojanu and Colin O'Brien of William & Mary in the final round of qualifying.
Davey Sandgren and Kiril Tcherveniachki lost their first round doubles match to Nick Cavaday and William Noblitt of North Carolina State 8-3.
In consolation singles, all four Vols picked up victories with three of those victories coming against ranked opposition. Cameron defeated 120th ranked Jean Yves Aubone of Florida State 7-5, 6-1. Sandgren defeated Duke's Dylan Arnould, ranked 111th, 6-4, 6-3 and Ben Rogers defeated 115th ranked K.J. Stewart of California 7-6, 4-6, 10-3 in a super tie-breaker. Adam Hubble won his consolation match over Oklahoma State's Nathan Byrnes 6-2, 6-0.
