VOLS START STRONG IN DOUBLES AT ALL-AMERICANS

The Tennessee men's tennis had both of its doubles teams beat top-10 opponents Thursday, to advance out of the first round of the main draw, at the Polo Ralph Lauren All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla.
Bobby Cameron and Kaden Hensel defeated a ranked opponent for the third time in the All-Americans when they beat Clemson's Jarmaine Jenkins and Clement Reix, 9-8. Jenkins and Reix were ranked sixth in the preseason doubles poll. Cameron and Hensel are 9-2 this season in doubles with five of those victories coming over ranked foes. The UT duo face Boise State's Clancy and Luke Shields, ranked 30th in the second round Friday.
Adam Hubble and Ben Rogers, also defeated a top-10 opponent in the first round as the Vols beat eighth-ranked Daniel and Nathan Byrnes of Oklahoma State, 8-5. Hubble and Rogers face North Carolina's Lenny Gullan and David Stone in the second round.
Hensel, the only Vol left in the singles main draw, defeated a ranked opponent for the fifth time this season when he beat Notre Dame's Sheeva Parbhu, ranked 20th, 6-7(5), 6-3, 6-2. In the second round, Hensel faced another top-20 opponent in Illinois's Kevin Anderson. Anderson defeated Hensel 6-4, 6-2 to advance. Hensel is 11-2 this season in singles with both losses coming to players ranked in the top-50.
