Delaney, Echols and Allen Earn Promotions

The University of Tennessee announced staff promotions for three employees in the external operations area of the athletics department. Jimmy Delaney has been promoted from Assistant Athletics Director for Sales & Marketing to Associate Athletics Director for Sales & Marketing, Chris Echols moves from Director of Internet Communications to Director of Digital Media and Mary Allen has been elevated from Assistant Director of Marketing to Director of Marketing.
Delaney joined the UT athletics department full-time as a member of the women’s department marketing staff in 2004. He was promoted to Assistant Athletics Director in 2013, serving as unit head for the marketing department. Delaney has continued to take on expanded responsibilities and will take over the lead role in football game production in 2016.
Echols has led the online efforts of the athletics department since joining the staff in 2010. He will continue to lead the Internet operations area and will take on additional leadership responsibilities in social media and photography.
Allen started her career at UT in 2013. She will have direct oversight of the marketing, fan experience and gameday atmosphere efforts for women’s basketball and baseball in addition to assisting with gameday activities for football.
