KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Competing on its home course at Cherokee Farms, the Tennessee cross country program turned in a pair of top-10 team finishes Friday morning as it hosted the 2025 Southeastern Conference Cross Country Championships. The Lady Vols, ranked No. 27 nationally, placed seventh in the women's 6,000-meter race, while the men's squad took ninth overall in the 8,000-meter competition.
Freshman standout Mary Nyaboke Ogwoka continued her remarkable debut season by earning All-SEC honors with a ninth-place finish in the women's race, clocking a time of 20:10.5. She was Tennessee's top finisher for the fourth consecutive meet, helping the Lady Vols total 192 points and narrowly edge Kentucky by a single point for seventh place.
