2017 Big Orange Caravan Ends On High Note in Tri-Cities

KINGSPORT, Tenn. -- The Kingsport Farmers Market hosted the final stop of the 2017 Big Orange Caravan Tuesday, with 1,011 fans enjoying an evening of fun highlighted by appearances by Tennessee coaches, administrators and Spirit Squad members. The crowd of more than 1,000 made for the highest attended stop of this year's Big Orange Caravan.
Tennessee coaches in attendance were head football coach Butch Jones, head women's tennis coach Alison Ojeda, head men's tennis coach Chris Woodruff, and director of track and field and cross country Beth Alford-Sullivan.Â
Other special guests from Tennessee Athletics Tuesday in Kingsport included Smokey, the "Voice of the Vols," Bob Kesling and Vice Chancellor/Director of Athletics John Currie. VFLs Devaun Swafford and Teddy Gaines were also on hand to interact with fans.
As is a staple of the Caravan's new format, James Buchanan, a rising UT freshman and recent graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School received a scholarship awarded by the Sullivan Co. UT Alumni Chapter.
