"Tennessee is really fortunate to have a great young coach as Eve Rackham as the leader of the Vols program. I think Eve has proven to be a great recruiter, a communicator and a role model for a lot of great young women. I also think she is one of the best young coaches in the game and will have a great future ahead of her. I'm really proud of what she has accomplished in her career here in Chapel Hill with me as both an outstanding player and as a coach and how she has helped elevate our program to a new level. I think she will be able to do the same at Tennessee. She definitely will be missed by all the people here at Carolina, but I know she is destined to be successful as the head coach for the program in Knoxville. With her work ethic and her commitment to student-athletes, the program is in great shape and I look forward to following the University of Tennessee program."

"I've known Eve for some time now and we were assistants together at the University of North Carolina for two seasons before I got the job here at Chattanooga. Tennessee has made a home-run hire with her. I've been around and I've worked with a lot of other assistants and head coaches when I was an assistant and I don't know if I've been around someone who truly understands the time and the relentlessness that you have to put into college athletics to be great better than Eve. She totally gets it. She has the daily habits and is just incredibly gifted in this profession. I think she has all the tools to be an outstanding head coach and I believe she will become just that. She's a great assistant, a great friend and a great leader of young people. She has all the tools that will make her a great head coach. She is a tireless worker and I think she has an incredible eye for talent as a recruiter. Then once she gets talented young people in the gym, she pushes them to be better. She can teach and coach and lead them to be better and they improve in the gym with her coaching style. She has a great ability to relate, connect and mentor young women. She is an incredibly strong builder of relationships. All of these attributes are really valuable to be a great head coach and I truly believe she will put Tennessee volleyball back into a national spotlight as they have been there before. She will return them to a great level."
