Tennessee baseball player J.P. Arencibia has been named to Baseball America's 2005 College Summer All-America Team, as announced by the publication last week. Selected as the first-team catcher, Arencibia is the only member of the squad who hit better than .400 this past summer. The rising sophomore led the USA Baseball National Team in batting average, hits and RBI.
Baseball America's College Summer All-America Team is composed of players from various summer leagues and Team USA. Of the 14 first-team selections, Arencibia was the lone representative from the Southeastern Conference. He was a Freshman All-America selection and the SEC Freshman of the Year while helping lead the Vols to the NCAA College World Series last season.

LINDBLOM, DELMONICO LISTED AMONG SEBASEBALL.COM'S "TOP-15 SEC NEWCOMERS"
Tennessee right-handed pitcher Josh Lindblom and shortstop Tony Delmonico are listed as Nos. 3 and 15, respectively, on SEbaseball.com's list of the SEC's top-15 newcomers for the 2006 season.
UT joined Ole Miss, South Carolina and Vanderbilt as the only league schools with multiple players on the list.
Lindblom was drafted by the Houston Astros in the third round of the 2005 MLB Draft, and Delmonico -- who graduated one year early from Knoxville's Farragut High School -- was considered one of the top junior prospects in the nation.
