XC Central: 2025 SEC Cross Country Championships

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee men's and women's cross country program will open up the 2025 postseason at home as Knoxville will play host to the 2025 SEC Cross Country Championships on Friday. The conference meet will begin at 10 a.m. ET from Cherokee Farms Cross Country Course along the banks of the Tennessee River.
Coverage on SEC Network will begin at 10 a.m., and the men's championship 8,000-meter will start at 10:08 a.m. Following the men's race, the women's championship 6,000-meter is slated for 10:53 a.m.
Admission is free and open for all spectators. Fans should note there is no spectator parking at the UT Research Park, and fans are encouraged to park at G-10 Garage and ride a free shuttle to the cross country course.

LAST TIME OUT: The Lady Vol cross country team turned in an impressive showing at the Pre-National Invitational in Columbia, Missouri, placing fourth out of 38 programs in a loaded field. Freshman Mary Nyaboke Ogwoka led the way with a fourth-place individual finish in 19:27.6, marking her second straight top-five performance. Junior Jaci Sievers notched a personal-best 6k time to finish 30th, while senior Andie-Marie Jones, junior Summer Schuster and redshirt freshman Tula Fawbush rounded out the Lady Vols' scoring lineup.
On the men's side, Tennessee placed 18th out of 32 teams with 400 points. Sophomore Ethan Edgeworth paced the Vols with a 27th-place finish in 23:50.2, followed by strong outings from Hudson Betts and freshman Ty Steorts inside the top 55.
RANKED SEC TEAMS: Ten SEC teams enter the SEC Championships listed among the nation's top-30 teams according to the most recent USTFCCCA rankings release. In the men's rankings, Alabama is ranked No. 8, Georgia is No. 20, Missouri is No. 22, Ole Miss is No. 26 and Oklahoma is No. 29. Five SEC women's programs are ranked in the top-30: Florida at No. 3, South Carolina at No. 20, Missouri at No. 23, Alabama at No. 25 and Tennessee at No. 27.
UP NEXT: Two weeks after the conference meet, Tennessee will travel to Hunstville, Alabama, for the 2025 NCAA South Region Championships on Friday, Nov. 14.
